2006 SLK55 AMG Matte Grey

Up for sale is a 2006 Mercedes SLK55 AMG.

Mileage: 54600

Price: $28000

About pricing:

The car is pretty clean. A little sign of wear on driver's seat. The car's KBB value is $29500. I will take away $1500 for the fact that it was involved in an accident and I had to replace the rear bumper. Damages were not beyond cosmetic and everything was replaced rather than bent back. Besides that I have installed a escort ZR4 laser shifter and a Piecha rear diffusor.

About the accident:

Hit from behind on 520 bridge a year ago during the well memorable snow days winter 2012. The car came to a very soft stop since it hit a pile of snow at about 10 mph after a little bit of zig zagging. I replaced rear bumper and a tail light. I did not have to replace the front bumper since it only had a tiny crack, but I replaced it anyway. Along with the repair, I have painted the car matte grey and put on a rear diffusor bought from Piecha Design in Germany.

About previous owners:

There were 2 previous owners. I bought the car in SF and had it shipped back to Seattle. I ran into a real estate businessman moving to New Zealand. The car was at about 34000 miles when I bought it. It was the previous owner's wife's grocery car. And he bought it from his friend after his friend's lease was over. I am the 3rd owner.

About the paint job:

Painted it at Maaco at downtown Seattle. Done by Justin, an artist who won a ton of prizes painting and restoring all kinds of vintage vehicles. The color is unique you will have to ask him how to paint it if you damaged the paint. But he is an artist, he likes painting a car like this and he charges reasonably. Hand wash is not required. You can go through tunnels (brown bear recommended) and it will not hurt the paint.

My comment about the car:

This car is brutal and mean. It is so loud even without any exhaust modification. It goes from 0-60mph in just 4.3 seconds. It will grab eyeballs everywhere you drive it to with the rear diffusor and the matte finish. And it is a good summer drive being a hard top convertible. But it does nothing more than running fast and looking cool. The trunk size is OK but it is a 2 seater and you can only fit 2 people in. The suspension is VERY HARD. And you can only get averagely 14-17 mpg. In short, it only does what it was designed to do really well.

Why do I want to sell:

If you bought it, you made a decision for me. I love this car and I would love to keep it. But I figured that it would probably be nice for me to grow my credit score by leasing a car fresh out of college. And this car has not that good of a fuel economy. It sits only 2 people. So I am trying to decide whether if I should lease a car with 4 seats or not. I am looking to do a one pay lease. If you bought this car, everything works out for me that way. If not, I will just keep this car since there is no other reason to sell it anyway.

The car has:
Harman Kardon sound system
Navigation system
Aux audio input
Sirius XM (I never paid for it, it is probably purchased for life time...)
FM AM Radio
Cruise Control
AMG wheels
Shifting pads
Retractable Hardtop
Heated Seats
Airscarf (super nice feature only a few Mercedes models have, blows warm air to your neck)
Climate Control
Single CD Player
Powered Seats
Powered Steering wheel adjustment (steering wheel goes up when you remove the key, super cool)
Rear viewing mirror tilts down when backing up
Bi-Xenon head lamp

Additional Equipments (I have installed):
Piecha rear diffusor
Escort ZR4 Laser shifter

If you are cool, and it looks like you will treat this car well, we may negotiate a little bit.
BUT, NO LOW BALLER PLEASE. SERIOUS BUYER ONLY.
Email me through Craigslist if you want to see the car. Bring driver's license and insurance card if you would like to test drive.

Have a nice day. Good luck car hunting.
